Creating a text file or ‘.txt’ file as it’s named can be quite a bewildering task if you’ve not done it before. Hopefully the following steps should clear it up for you.

How to set the date and time for a 7Twenty:

  1. Connect your camera to your PC with a USB cable.
  2. Wait for the drive to appear in your window (it may automatically open a new window for some people).
  3. Once the drive appears, click on it.
  4. You are now in the root of your camera.
    – Windows Users: Right click on your mouse, hover down to new >, select text document and place it in the root of the memory card.
    – Mac Users: Create a .txt file from TextEdit and place it in the root of the memory card.
  5. Now rename the text document to “TIME”.
  6. Now input the time like the following:
For example: It’s 20 July 2015 and the time is 16:22:01.
    So I will input this: 2015 07 20 16 22 01 (a space is needed between each number).
  7. When turning on the device after resetting the date and time, the blue light will flash for around 4-8 seconds. Do not press anything until the update is over.
NOTE: The time/date will not be displayed on the video itself.
