New, Low Profile GoPro Coming Soon

Yesterday afternoon, GoPro announced something new. The GoPro HERO4 Session. This new edition to the GoPro line up sees the standard camera slimmed down to a nice compact cube. No need for a bulky waterproof case with this GoPro, the HERO4 Session is waterproof to 10m straight out of the box. GoPro claim that the HERO4 Session is 50% smaller and 40% lighter than current GoPro models, this should mean that it can be mounted more comfortably to a helmet without the user noticing it too much. Included with the new HERO4 Session, are some low profile mounts and frames for attaching the camera to a host of different objects. One of the frames allows the camera to sit almost flush with it’s mounting buckle for that ultra low profile look. There’s no 4K on this model, but lets be honest, who needs it just yet anyway? The likelihood is that if you want 4K, you’re not that likely to be strapping your camera to your noggin, so the regular (big) GoPro HERO4 Black will probably suit your needs. The camera does feature GoPro’s innovative Protune mode, albeit a slimmed down version of this feature. Notably, there’s a lack of film standard frame rates such as 24 or 48fps. This is a potential oversight by GoPro that may be rectified in future firmware updates, but for the moment if your using your camera for film or want that cinematic look to your videos, then you’re stuck with the bulky equivalents. Below is a full list of specs and details along with some images. We will soon be offering the HERO4 Session for sale through our online retail store, so be sure to keep an eye out later in the month for this.HEDCAMz GoPro Session 3HEDCAMz GoPro Session 2
